Inquisition cont. (Anton)
« on: April 04, 2017, 12:39:36 am »

Leaving the group with Joseph, Anton traverses the cityscape to get back to Narses' palace, where he asks after the knight Erasmus' rooms.

It isn't long before he's at the man's door.

Anton turns to Brother Joseph.
"Watch the man carefully Brother. Setites can infiltrate anything, and one can never know what to expect." Anton whispers, before knocking on the door.

Anton's knock is quickly answered by the the Ventrue knight. The bulky man nods courteously to Anton, his face sporting the signs of a recent shave. Some Cainites still held to old rituals such as those.

"Can I help you, Sir Veranin?"

Anton smiles. Internally, he's less then enthusiastic. So many of those who claim to support Christ have been charlatans and liars. Hopefully this knight will not be a sham, but that is far from a forgone conclusion. Who knows if this Venture is also included in the Setite scheme.

"I certainly hope so, Sir Erasmus (OOC; or whatever his last name was drak there is zero chance I'm going to look for it hahahaha)." Anton then looks around, before turning back to the knight.

"May I enter?"

Erasmus sports a questioning look as he gestures for Anton to enter, though he does not press him on the matter.

"Certainly."

"Many thanks." Anton says, as he walks in. He beckons for Joseph to follow.

He turns to Erasmo.
"Sir Erasmus, how well do you know the rest of the Venture delagation?..." Anton trails.

"We are both of Godly stock, yes? I know of the Black Cross, I hold many of your delegation in my city. I know that while we may disagree on the how for this Crusade, we both believe and know of it's neccesity."

"I know not if I can trust the rest of the Venture delegation with help in this matter."

Gabor. Quickly, look for any of those setite markings. Perhaps on his blade?

What am I, magic? I can't see anything you're not looking at, nor hear anything you cannot hear.

Besides, he's no snake. He's too obvious about how much he dislikes you.

Erasmus stands stiffly at attention as Anton speaks. "Lord Von Saschen might be of a delicate temperament but to suggest he is untrustworthy is ridiculous."

He slams his fist against his chest in a familiar gesture of honour and strength.

"You will find no clan of more honourable stock than the Ventrue."

His eyes narrow, "Why? Have you discovered something that would lead you to believe otherwise?"

Fark if I know what you can do. Aren't tzmisce supposed to be skilled at Auspex and the like?

Anton nods, solemnly.
"Unfortunately. In our investigation, we discovered... well, I suppose showing is easier." Anton says, gesturing to Joseph to display the knife.

"This was Roland's blade. Note the setite scratchings. I fear that They have infiltrated your delagation, Sir Erasmus."

Erasmus' face shifts into a black scowl.

"Get out."

Anton pointedly avoids looking into Erasmus' eyes, and sighs.
"Listen, I am trying to make this easier for you, and the Black Cross by extension. I know you had nothing to do with the setites. What I want is for you to help me find out who is. That way suspicion doesn't fall on you, and we easily deal with this problem."

"You come in here throwing baseless accusations, an enemy of my clan, holding a knife with with random markings on it you claim are a setite's, and you ask me to help you incriminate my blood? I said get out. Before I lose my temper."

From the command and intonation, and the way he looked into Anton's eyes, he knows instantly that the Ventrue had just attempted to Dominate him. And failed completely.

You're welcome for that Gabor says.

Strong blood makes for poor mind control attempts.

Anton snarls.
"I was asking you to help with purging corruption. Clearly I was mistaken in believing you'd care." Anton says, turning to leave.

"Come brother. I suppose we now need to visit the other Venture delegate. Maybe he'd care."

Despite what he may have hoped, Erasmus does not stop Anton as he leaves.

"Well, that was a disappointment. Who is the other delegate?"

"There's only two now, the sire and the other speaker, whatever his name was. And, while I would relish a way to vent my anger, speaking to Roland's sire would likely have the same outcome as this despot." Anton says.

"It is hard to find god fearing Kindred, brother. It is discouraging."

"Ah yes yes, that was his name." Anton says.

"We should."
