« on: July 08, 2014, 01:57:19 pm »

Hello everyone !

My name is Stéphane and I am a lover of Bounty Head Bebop ! I am coming on this forum in order to ask silly questions ! Well, at least, I will try ... I am 34 year old and I work in drinkable water production for Suez Environnement. I play RPG for about 15 years and I am a big fan of Cowboy Bebop. I am sorry if my english seems bad to you ...

Bonjour.

Yes, here at Bounty head all of our avatars are an accurate display of ourselves :P

Nooooot an actual picture of me, that's Christian Bale (though i've been told there's a resemblance).

They're probably just referring to how creepy he was in that movie.

Speak for yourself.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must return to making my amazing warrior cats in space storygame. It'll revolutionize the way we think about warrior cats!

Welcome to the site... I'm English but just moved to Canada cos it seemed like a fun idea at the time.

Very glad you like BHB, we just finished one game of it on here and there is a very long term game running at the moment.

Don't worry about your English as most of us make horrendous typos and auto-corrects.

I find it amusing that all the CYS people say hello and nobody else.
Anyway, glad to have a new guy join in on the fun. ;D

Oh and by the way :

BerkaZerka, I have heard about BHB in my savage land because I am a huge fan of Cowboy Bebop and RPG AND because of this : http://www.legrog.org/jeux/bounty-head-bebop

Le Grog is a huge french site about RPG, it's a kind of Bible for RPG players in my country. I remember I was looking for a RPG about anime and I found BHB... It was love at first sight ...

Therefore, I am trying to translate the game in french (if one day, I find JP de Henaut to ask him the permission to do it ...).

Quote
We are in 2073. Fifty years ago, a comet came crashing on the Moon and reduced it in a cloud of asteroids, while opening an unstable wormhole in the direction of the Sun. Lunar debris began to fall on the Earth, causing cataclysmic damage on the Equatorial belt and forcing people to join the areas closest to the two poles or deeply Bury for shelter. Part of the debris continued to turn in orbit but, every day, some of them still crashing at random on the planet.

Scientists have recovered several fragments of the Comet, baptized "Gatestone", and discovered that they have a new such astounding energy: energy that can be used in many ways, including to create holes of unstable worms that can lead. Very quickly, scientists have tried opening a wormhole in the direction of March by constructing a jump gate. By doing the same on the other side, they realized that they could stabilize the worm holes. Since then, countless jump doors open the solar system in a wild settlement, subject to the authority of megacorporations and criminal organizations. The space is as wild as the American border in the 1860s...

On Earth and the colonies, it is the SSPB (Solar System Policing Office) which is responsible to enforce the law. Unfortunately, bureaucracy and the difficulty it encounters to hunt down the fugitives able to hide anywhere in the solar system have led the SSPB to engage many bounty hunters.

Players therefore embody some of these bounty hunters, that they are doing the job because they believe in justice or because it's one way as any to earn money.

BHB uses a variant of the d20 system licensed OGL, called Inverted d20 that uses only a single d20. The character is defined by characteristics (strength, agility, Constitution, Intelligence, wisdom, Presence) score between 1 and 10, with skills, through backups (Reaction, Endurance and desire), its vitality and its points of injury, by points chance and adrenaline that revive jets or enable special effects by strengths and defects.

To perform an action or an attack, simply launch a d20 and getting a jet equal or less than the value of the tested competence amended by the circumstances. To get a specific result, to further jet of the d20 is superior to 10 or 15. A direct reading system allows for multiple levels of success (success normal, major, or heroic). In combat, the damage is defined by reading the ones digit on the.

Finally, characters can also master the powers of feng shui or psi powers.

I love the translation quirks going English to French to English again!  ;D
