Has anybody played or learned this system? (Mutants and Masterminds).

Yep, M&M 2e is the overall best supers game there is. It just eeks out HERO System, due to ease of use.

HERO is more crunchy, but way more complex.

M&M's Damage Save vs. Traditional Hit Point system does take some getting used to though.

Well yes, for us Mensa Alumni like you and I, but we gots to look out for the little people.

M&M is way easier to play and run, so definitely a better fit for a new gamer.
