Due to expressed interest, I am temporarily opening my private Fantasy Build board, so folks can get a look at the direction I am going with it and try some of it out if they like.

I have already used these rules to run a Conan the Barbarian game with satisfying results.

You are right, I do not like it. The old hexslinger was just fine the way SHE was. But I guess to appease everyone else, I will play along.... For Now!!!

If the optional rule is used, I can foresee it changing the way spells are cast; in that it makes it even less likely anyone would try to cast a simple spell and 'waste' the spell slot, when it could be used for a more powerful one instead.

It is also going to make party buffing and healing unlikely or impossible (which, depending on the harshness of the setting might not be out of place).

also, due to the value of Luck Points, I'm going to edit the rules to allow 1 Luck Point to fuel INT + WIS in spells, rather than just INT.
